Visiona 2, Verner Panton 1970. Imm Cologne. Cologne furniture a fair. Bayer Leverkusen. Drahlon - Ship.

Year: 1970

In the 70s Verner Panton fully dived into the world of colours and forms. Strengthened by the success – already at the Visiona 0 – he ventured incredibly avant-garde draughts. The Visiona 2 resembled a creative fireworks. Countless Living Towers in different colours formed the Phantasy Landscape. Verner Panton in addition: “Places for sitting, hanging around and lying arise by chance. Everything is covered with elastic material. Even the sources of light are hidden behind this material. The cupboard space is placed in the wall behind textile-dressed up flaps. The cave is fully air-conditioned.” Amoeba armchairs were arranged in front off a wall dressed up with Ring Lamps. A Spiral SP3-light acted as a light column, similarly a waterfall in the middle of the space. Pieces of furniture, lights, wall disguisings and textiles – Panton limited himself not only on one single object, but put it in a complete context. He incorporated the whole space into his creation. Besides, a harmonious and homogeneous whole originated – experimental residential sceneries with psychedelic character.
