Verner Panton’s Visiona 2 – a revolutionary design concept
In the context of the Cologne furniture fair in 1970 Bayer in cooperation with the Danish designer Verner Panton presented Visiona 2, an almost breathtaking interior staging wallowing in colors and forms. A scenery formed from countless residential sculptures – this is the PHANTASY LANDSCAPE by cult designer Verner Panton. Within the scope of the Cologne furniture fair the Dane formed the psychedelic residential scenery as the heart of the Visiona 2 on the ship of the Bayer AG.

Year: 1968/69
Residential sceneries were Verner of Panton’s favorite subject. His LIVING TOWER, for the first time as a Phantasy Landscape on the Visiona 2 in completion presented, uses the three dimensions of space. The organically formed sculpture made from two compound elements can be used at four levels.

Year: 1971
Verner Panton never limited himself only to the order of single objects, but put them always in a context, incorporated the whole space with his creation. The best example: the VARNA PALACEÂ in Arhus/Denmark in which a restaurant was accommodated. Guest space, way, society halls, toilets – all rooms of the classical building found out an elementary transformation in 1971.

The TIVOLI BAR STOOL is based on the same prinziple as Verner Panton’s Tivoli Chair. A metal rack with a seat made out of threaded plastic string – these two different materials form a unique unit.

The TIVOLI LOUNGE CHAIR is a slightly modified draught of the classical Tivoli Chair. His lower height and broader seat make him comfortably especially for a relaxed sitting.

It is supposed to be the Verner Panton’s first chair – the Tivoli Chair. Basically the chair existed of two elements which together formed a unity: a metal rack and a seat made out of plastic string or rattan. One could also say that the metal gave the massive frame which the plastic filled out in a filigree way.
